Once a deck gets up to the right lesson level to operate fully, any drawn lessons
are usually just kept in hand. Instead of wasting time playing them, most
people will opt to use one of their precious actions to draw another card.
So, in the late stages of the game, you can often catch somebody with several
lessons in hand. So what? Late in the game, I want to be dealing a lot more
than 3 or 4 damage. In the early game, this card will be even less effective,
as most people play out lessons on their first turn, and you will rarely
be able to cast this before your second turn. Apparently, I seem to resent
homework, as my ratings for the week have averaged a paltry 1.5.
Crusader
In Dobbys Help decks, this card is awesome. You can get the final blow in,
and it can be huge. If played properly, it should be able to do around 17-20
damage! But, in other decks, it's usually only good for 2-4 damage...
Enraged
Not very good at all it is way to conditional and it can’t target creatures
and it doesn’t allow you to draw a card. Best situation you hit them
for three damage on you 1st turn but wait you can do that with magical mishap.
Fend
This is one major card which is very interesting. If your opponent is loaded
with lessons in the first few turns since this card is easy and fast to play
then w00t! It only costs 2 charms what a bargain. But then the damage only
applies to how many lesson cards your opponent has in his or her hand which
is one drawback. But look on the positive side. Even though your opponent
has little or no lesson cards in his / her hand you can still check the cards
out to prepare for a counter attack. Now that sounds attractive. So this
earns a

In most circumstances, this card won't be doing tons of damage, unless you've
got a plan. But when you think about it, most Charms spells in the 2 power
range that do damage average out at 2 damage anyways, so if you can do two
or more damage with this card, then it's doing great! While it is true that
when most people have lessons in their hand, they usually play them as soon
as they can.
So you've got to think, "How can I get enough lessons into my opponent's
hand such that he couldn't easily get rid of them before I can do major damage?" Well
that's obviously a solution for later game, and since we're already in the
Charms zone, Dobby's Help is ideal for making your opponent draw mass amounts
of cards. 10 power is pretty far off though, but if you use power boosters
like wands or Wand Shop, it makes it an easier goal to obtain. And usually
where you see Dobby's Help, VTJ is not far behind. Both of these causes your
opponent to have an unbelievably crazy amount of cards in their hand. Aardvark
pointed out yesterday that most decks run lessons in the 20s range, so after
a such a fatal DH + VTJ combo, Overdue Homework is just the kind of thing that
kills people.

Snuffles
This could be brutal after a Dobby's Help or in any deck that makes your opponent
draw a lot. However, more than likely there are better options for Charms
damage. As usual, my favs are Bewitched Snowballs and Stream of Flames. Mostly
because these are the better critter killers. But i think this could be very
effective in the stall decks. I haven't played around with it too much but
i might start!
Fishbob
The last card of the week. Have you noticed that all these cards have something
to do with lessons? This card is ok if you have bounce cards, like Dobby's
Dissappearence and Scribblifors. You get as many lessons in your opponents
hand and then spring this card. If you don't have those cards, you might
want to try out Revealer, to make sure your opponent has enough lessons.
If you have Snape AND McGonagall in this deck and no lessons, you might want
this card. It only costs two lessons and can usually do 1-3 damage. This
card is good when comboed with Dobby's Help/VTJ. I wouldn't know that well
becuase I've never used it.
