Aardvark
As I noted in Monday's review of Crazed Capybara, I generally like critters
with built-in draws over their non-draw counterparts, even though you are
being "virtually" damaged by a point each such time. However, I
do not like creatures who deal less than two damage per turn, unless they
have some other nice redeeming features due to their lack of offensive "oomph".
In this case, the card draw just doesn't qualify as a nice enough feature.
So you are not likely to see this little weasel slinking into any of my decks.
Crusader
A 1/1 creature...but the effect is good. You get a free draw ;) But, there
are better cards...Black Bat and Streeler mainly. This card is killed by
a Streeler, so it's not that good. Only good in the Creature-Damage protection
decks with Fawkes, Umbrella Flowers and Garden Gnome.
Fend
Oo this is an interesting critter. Almost the same type as the capybara, this
baby lets you draw a card. Being only 3 lessons you can play this and get
a "free" card like the capybara. Though only 1/1 creature, this
baby is good addition to any fast and furious CMC deck. I would reccomend
about 2 - 3 per deck for the drawing ability but be lucky enough to draw
this in your starting 7.
Profpoke
Average small creature with drawing ability seeks play time. It's common so
not hard to find, and isn't totally bad. You play it early and help get other
cards you'd rather have. Not bad at all.
