Highlights of the season

On November 18, 2011, the Blue Jays unveiled a new logo and uniforms for the 2012 season.
On December 30, 2011, the Blue Jays announced the signing of free agent left-hander Darren Oliver.
On January 1, 2012, Jason Frasor was traded back to the Toronto Blue Jays for pitching prospects Myles Jaye and Daniel Webb.
On January 24, 2012, the Blue Jays announced the signing of free agent Omar Vizquel.
On February 1, 2012, Francisco Cordero signed a 1 year, $4.5 million deal with the Toronto Blue Jays.
On April 5, 2012, the Blue Jays knocked off the Indians, 7-4, in 16 innings, the longest Opening Day game in Major League history.
On May 17, 2012, Yan Gomes became the first player from Brazil to play in a Major League game.
June was the real crucible for the Jays. Brandon Morrow went down June 12th. June 14th, Kyle Drabek hit the disabled list on his way to
Tommy John surgery. June 15th, Robert Coello felt some elbow inflammation. June 16th, Drew Hutchison went on the schneid.
On June 28, 2012, Jose Bautista set a new Blue Jays franchise record for home runs in a single month with 13.
On July 10, 2012, Jose Bautista has appeared in MLB All-Star Game.
On July 12, 2012, the Blue Jays have signed Edwin Encarnacion to a 3 years, $27 million contract for the 2013, 2014 and 2015 seasons with
a $10 million club option for the 2016 season.
On July 16, Jose Bautista crumpled at the on-deck circle, grabbing his left wrist, and played just 2 more games in late August before a
third medical opinion led to Sam Fuld surgery to repair a tendon sheath.
On July 20, 2012, the Astros traded pitchers Brandon Lyon, J.A. Happ and David Carpenter to Toronto for 7 players, including pitcher
Francisco Cordero and outfielder Ben Francisco.
On July 25, 2012, J.P. Arencibia took a foul tip off his right knuckle and suffered a fracture that kept him out until Sept. 7.
On August 3, 2012, Brett Lawrie left the game against Oakland with a strained oblique that kept him out until Sept. 7.
2012 attendance at Rogers Center averaged 26,378.
